About Us
Thor Hestar was founded by Einar Thor Johansson and Nicole Zohdi, an Icelandic-American couple who shares their love for the exploring the rugged Icelandic nature via horse. Einar is an Icelandic farmer, and former tour guide who has worked in the horse tourism business for over 30 years, previously managing one of Iceland's most successful horse tourism companies. 10 years later, both Einar and Nicole had their own vision of creating a more authentic, "Real Iceland" horse riding experience and opened up his own farm out in the mountains of the countryside. Their mission is to have guests have a truly immersive, off-the-beaten-path experience in to Icelandic nature, culture and history through horse-riding tours and other cultural experiences offered on their farm.
